Gaming for [All] the Ages will feature a number of TTRPGs you can sign up for to play. All games will start between 2-3pm and will last 2-3 hours. No materials required! Just come as a willing player!

Tabletop Roleplaying Game Jam!

Welcome to our first TTRPG Game Jam! Please read through all the rules and guidelines before submitting. Each category will be judged by a panel to select a winner. The winner of each category will have their game professionally printed and will be featured in the UNCW Gameroom.

Deadline to submit: All submissions must be emailed to stuartc [at] UNCW.edu by 11:59pm on September 19, 2026. See below for full submission instructions.

All questions should be directed to the submission email.

General Rules:

• All are welcome: Everyone is encouraged to submit a game (UNCW Student or Community Member).
• Original entry: Game must be original to the 1-Page or Water Bottle format and should be an original submission. (no submissions from other jams or previously published material)
• No licensed IP: Your submission cannot contain any copyright material.
• No AI: This game jam is for human-made contributions only.
• 11:59pm deadline: All entries must be submitted by 11:59pm on September 19 to be considered.
• One entry per category: You are permitted to submit one entry per category.
• Respect Compact: The event follows the guidelines of the Seahawk Respect Compact. All submissions must be free of hate speech and bigotry. All explicit or graphic content should be labeled. Consider referencing the TTRPG Safety Toolkit.

One-Page TTRPG

The One-Page TTRPG must have the entire rules-lite roleplaying system on a single sheet of paper (two-sided). These games are designed to be easy to learn and accessible. The core rules should be featured on one side of the page.

The game can be a hack of another system or original. Make sure the game references the hacked system. See this link for examples.

One-Page TTRPG Guidelines:

• Entry must be a PDF of a one-page US Letter (8.5 x 11 inches) game.
• The core rules must be on one side.
• All text must be at least 9pt to ensure readability.
• Images must be referenced.
• All themes are accepted, but content warnings are required for anything explicit or graphic.
• Remember to include: Name of game, system reference (if applicable), how many players, estimated play time, and content warnings.

Water Bottle TTRPG

The Water Bottle TTRPG is a spin-off of the One-Page TTRPG and inspired by the TTRPG Bookmark Jam. The entire rules-lite roleplaying system must fit on a 20oz water bottle tumbler. The core mechanic of the game should be related to drinking from and/or emptying the water bottle. The theme is about hydration.

Water Bottle TTRPG Guidelines:

• All submissions must fit on a 20oz water bottle tumbler (7.85 x 9.37 inches) [link for reference].
• The game does not have to be designed to represent bottle packaging (think soda), but designing to the bottle is encouraged. (See Dungeon Slimes for reference)
• All text should be readable. It is not recommended to go below 9pt.
• The game’s core mechanic needs to revolve around drinking from and/or emptying the water bottle. The theme should revolve around hydration.
• All Images must be referenced on a supporting document.
• Remember to include: Name of game, how many players, and content warnings (if applicable).

Submitting your TTRPG

• Make sure your file is a PDF and images are at least 300dpi for best printing.
• Name files as “Name of Game – Author’s Last Name – UNCW Game Jam F26”
• Send an email with the file attached to Dr. Stuart (stuartc [at] UNCW.edu) with the subject “UNCW Game Jam Submission”
  • In the body of the email please include:
    • Author’s Full name (as you want it displayed with the game);
    • Contact email (students need to submit with UNCW email but can also offer alternative)
    • Name of game
    • One-Page or Water Bottle TTRPG
    • Do we have permission to post game in full on our website?
    • If you are under 18 (optional to be considered for “under 18 category”)
• Dr. Stuart will confirm your submission.
• All submissions must be emailed by 11:59pm Saturday, September 19 to be considered for judging
• Winners will be announced and contacted within 2 weeks of submission.
